Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna’s political committee member former member of parliament K. D Lal Kanta says that strikes to further oppress the people are not appropriate at this stage, He also emphasized that the Janata Vimukthi Peramuna does not approve of such strikes.
He points out that the party accepts the demands of all the workers fairly, but the strike should be done sitting on the side of the people and with the consent of the people.
He mentioned that the people who are under severe pressure should not be oppressed any more and strikes should be conducted against the rulers and not by oppressing the innocent people.
He further said that he has no problem with increasing the salaries of doctors, but he believes that the salaries of other employees in the health system should also be increased.
