A few moments ago, former Minister of Health Keheliya Rambukwella was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department in connection with an incident of importing substandard human immunoglobulin injections.
He was arrested when he came to the Criminal Investigation Department this morning to give a statement according to a court order.
According to a statement made by Deputy Solicitor General Lakmini Girihagama on behalf of the Attorney General during the hearing of the controversial Human Immunoglobulin procurement case, Maligakanda Magistrate Lochana Abeywickrama ordered Rambukwella to report to the Criminal Investigation Department at 9 am on Friday (2).
After more than 10 hours of questioning, the minister has been arrested in connection with the incident.
