Marking a new beginning for Matale District, the Jayagamu Sri Lanka programme continued for its second day today(23) at Edward Ground in Matale, under the patronage of the Minister.
The Jayagamu Sri Lanka programme is organized by the Ministry of Labour and Foreign Employment. The program aims to bring all government services offered by institutes under the Ministry directly to the public.
On the first day, the program successfully launched the “Garusaru” initiative, which aims to promote the dignity of labour among informal sector workers. Additionally, awareness programs on foreign employment opportunities were also commenced.
Today, the second day of the program, focuses on the “Smart Youth” programme. This initiative aims to provide a platform for youth to realize their dreams and empower them to reach their full potential. Under this programme, vocational training opportunities are set to be offered with the financial support of the President’s Fund.
