Dallas Alahapperuma, Member of Parliament of the Freedom Janata Sabha, said that even though everyone ran away in the succession presidential election held in Parliament last year, he contested it.

He indicated that he can come to the upcoming presidential candidacy and has all the qualifications for that.
But what should be done at this moment is not to name more presidential candidates and allow the government to breathe more, he emphasized. He said this while addressing a press conference held in Colombo.
