Minister of State for Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said that steps will be taken to provide the TIN number or the tax registration number of individuals according to the National Identity Card number. The State Ministry further stated that the decision was taken after a discussion with President’s Secretary Saman Ekanayake.
Commenting on the new system, the state minister noted that the government is focusing on implementing a program to provide the tin number in groups with the help of the Department of Registration of Persons.
