The current Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Harin Fernando, has canceled the Special Gazette No. 2342/48 dated 28 July 2023 issued by former Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe.
Also, the gazette notification related to the dissolution of the interim committees, powers, functions and duties of the Sri Lanka Karate Federation and the Sri Lanka Motor Sports Association has also been cancelled.
Accordingly, according to the constitution of the national sports associations or federations, the officials elected in the previous elections can hold those positions until the end of their legal term of office and a new election is held.
