Field Masha Sarath Fonseka, a member of Parliament of the S.J.B has requested the opposition leader Sajith Premadasa to immediately remove former army commander General Daya Ratnayake, who joined the S.J.B few days ago. Otherwise, he says, the party will have to face dire consequences.
He said that this situation is regrettable and that he will not leave the party but will work against the appointment.
Field Marshal Fonseka told reporters that others in the party were also disappointed with the way the newcomers were being accommodated in the SJB.
He says that even SJB General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara has admitted that General Daya Ratnayake is not a person to be accepted by SJB.
