The special train that was operated from Colombo Fort to Kandy for the ‘Siri Dalada Vandana’ has been suspended from today (24). The Railway General Manager says that this decision was taken at the request of the police.
Nearly four hundred thousand people have already come to Kandy for the Dalada Vandana and even though one hundred thousand of them leave Kandy every day, it will take at least 3 days for that group to leave Kandy, Central Province Senior DIG Lalith Pathinayake told the media.
