The Colombo High Court today (09) ordered that the case filed by the Attorney General against former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s son Yoshitha Rajapaksa and his grandmother Daisy Forrest, alleging that they committed an offence under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, be re-called on April 24.
The case was taken up before High Court Judge Rashmi Singappuli today.
State Counsel Oswald Perera, appearing for the prosecution, stated in court that the expert medical report called through the Colombo Judicial Medical Officer on whether the defendant Daisy Forrest was mentally fit to stand trial had not yet been received.
Accordingly, he requested the court to grant another date for the hearing of the case until the relevant examination report was received.
Having considered the facts presented, the judge ordered the case to be heard again on April 24th.
