It is planned to make it mandatory to submit the Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) for all types of bank account opening, approval of building plans from local government institutions, registration of motor vehicles and renewal of licenses.
Government sources say that the Inland Revenue (Amendment) Bill No. 24 of 2017, which includes the relevant amendments, will be presented to Parliament soon.
According to this new amendment, it will be mandatory to submit the TIN number when transferring the ownership of a land to another person, registering a business, transferring shares of a company to another party, and applying for credit cards.
