Galle District Parliamentary Candidate of the National People’s power, Nalin Hewage states that even if you can buy a vehicle with one month’s salary in foreign countries, in Sri Lanka even if you earn a lifetime , you can only buy a tyre of a tractor.
He said that a Japanese Toyota Vitz type car can be brought to Sri Lanka for 12 lakh rupees, but the government is charging a tax of 78 lakh rupees for those vehicles.
He also said that the National People’s power government will build an economy where every household in Sri Lanka can have a vehicle within ten years. He said this while addressing a National People’s power parliamentary election public meeting.
