The proposal to remove the Minister of Judicial Prison Affairs and Constitutional Reform Wijayadasa Rajapaksa from the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna is scheduled to be submitted to the All Ceylon Committee of that front today.
The accusation against him is that he obtained membership of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party from his party membership. The front also mentions that the minister has violated the party’s constitution through that.
After the approval of this committee, the authority to take action against the minister is to be delegated to the disciplinary committees.
Political sources say that Minister Wijedasa Rajapaksa is likely to lose his position in the next few days, and an opposition MP representing the SJP is to be appointed for that position.
