Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs Ananda Wijepala says that tight security has been provided to the KRIS building in Colombo Fort, which was set on fire for the second consecutive day yesterday.
He further said that nearly 20 police officers have been deployed for the purpose and that a report from the Government Analyst is to be obtained regarding the fires.
A fire broke out on the 24th floor of the KRIS building in Colombo Fort, which is under construction, yesterday and it has now been extinguished. The day before yesterday, a fire broke out on the 35th floor of the building and it also spread to the 34th floor. On both occasions, nearly 8 fire engines were used to put out the fire and great effort was made to do so.
