Minister Wasantha Samarasinghe says that the current government has taken steps to protect the trust given to the people and the dignity of the people.
The people have given power to the government for 60 months and only 05 months have passed, and there are 55 more months left, the Minister said, addressing a public meeting.
Stating that a few days ago, MP Kabir Hashim had stated that Sajith would become President by December, he said that if Sajith becomes President in December, Venerable Battaramulla Seelarathana Thero said that he would become President in January.
Minister Wasantha Samarasinghe further stated that these statements indicate that they will never become President.
