The Meteorological Department said that due to the spread of high rainfall over the country and the activation of the Southwest Monsoon after May 20, the temperature, which has risen to dangerous levels, is expected to decrease.
They say that many parts of the island may experience more rainfall. Accordingly, a low-level atmospheric disturbance may result in heavy rainfall of more than 100 mm after 1 pm. An increase in rain conditions is expected in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Eastern, Southern and Uva provinces and in the next few days.
