Vijitha Herath got the most preferential votes in Sri Lanka

Minister Vijitha Herath managed to break the record set by Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya by obtaining 655,289 preferential votes in a parliamentary election in Sri Lanka within two hours.

Minister Vijitha Herath, who contested from Gampaha district, has become the most preferential votes receiver in the history of elections by getting 716,715 preferential votes.
