US President Donald Trump has arrived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for an official visit.
The US and Saudi Arabia signed a defense deal worth nearly $142 billion during the visit, which the White House has described as the largest such deal in history.
The deal, signed during President Donald Trump’s visit to Riyadh, is part of a $600 billion US package that also includes Saudi investments in the energy and technology sectors.
The White House described the deals as “historic and transformative”, stressing that they reflect a deepening strategic partnership between Washington and Riyadh.
President Trump, who was received with full royal honors in the Saudi capital, met with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to finalize the deals. “We like each other very much,” Trump said during the talks, underlining the strong relationship between the two leaders.
