Underworld members arrested in Indonesia to be brought to Sri Lanka within three days

Public Security Minister Ananda Wijepala says that red warrants have been issued for about 75 organized and underworld criminals hiding abroad.

Addressing the media, he revealed that a significant number of them, namely about 20, have already been brought to this country.

Minister Wijepala further said that the remaining suspects will also be deported from those countries in the near future and brought to justice.

The Public Security Minister further stated that the six underworld members arrested during the raids carried out in Indonesia will be brought to Sri Lanka in the next few days.

“They will be brought back in the next 2 or 3 days. Discussions are underway with the Indonesian authorities to bring the group back to the country. Legal action will be taken against them once they are brought back to Sri Lanka,” he said.
