President Ranil Wickremesinghe met with palm industrialists in the Northern Province at Thandei Chelwa Auditorium in Jaffna, according to the Presidential Media Unit.
There, the President announced the formation of two committees to investigate both social issues and challenges within the palm industry in the Northern Region. After receiving the report of the relevant committee, the President said that necessary decisions will be taken to modernize the palm industry in the north.
Emphasizing his commitment to provide equal rights to all in the region, the President stressed that he will strongly stand for this principle.
The event was attended by Fisheries Minister Douglas Devananda, Member of Parliament Angajan Ramanathan, President’s Secretary Saman Ekanayake and a large number of industrialists engaged in the palm related industry.
