The Nepali government has banned TikTok, saying it contains content harmful to social harmony. Speaking to the BBC, Rekha Sharma, the country’s Minister of Communication and Information Technology, says that I had to come to the decision because of the obscene content.
Many countries including India have already blocked access to TikTok, which has more than a billion monthly users.
The government of Nepal has introduced strict decisions for the regulation of social media organizations and has taken steps to draft a new law making it mandatory for all social media sites operating in the country to establish contact offices in the country.
