Three members of the same family, including two children, died in a road accident on the Alpitiya-Avittawa main road. The police said that the accident occurred when a three-wheeler collided head-on with a lorry.
It is said that the 68-year-old three-wheeler driver and his 10-year-old grandson and seven-year-old granddaughter died in the accident.The police said that the deceased’s wife and his daughter and 18-year-old grandson, who were traveling in the car, were injured and taken to the hospital.
The driver of the lorry has been arrested in connection with the accident, and the Elpitiya Police is conducting further investigations.
