Sri Lankan Customs officials have arrested four people with a stock of foreign cigarettes worth 60 million rupees. The arrested are two individuals aged between 25 and 30. They are residents of Wellampitiya, Dematagoda, Bambalapitiya and Koswatta.
According to Sri Lankan Customs, this is the largest cigarette seizure in recent history. The group arrived at the Katunayake Airport from Dubai. Customs said that the cigarettes hidden in their 20 suitcases were found during the inspection.
The total value of the cigarette stock is 60 million rupees.
