Police sources say that thieves who entered the house of the National People’s Party General Secretary and Kalutara District Parliamentarian, Specialist Dr. Nihal Abeysinghe, in the Ilimba area of Horana, have taken away Rs. 25,000. The sources further say that this incident took place last Thursday.
Specialist Dr. Nihal Abeysinghe and his family members were not at home that day and when they returned home on the morning of the 3rd, they found the kitchen door and window open and filed a complaint with the police regarding the incident.
The Horana Police are conducting further investigations on the instructions of Senior Superintendent of Police in charge of Panadura Division Chamil Ratnayake and Assistant Superintendent of Police Udaya Kumara.
