The government has reportedly invited Dr. Hans Vijayasuriya, former CEO of Dialog Axiata, to lead the government’s proposed digital economy.
Although Dr. Vijayasuriya has not yet responded to the invitation, the government is confident that it will be accepted.
Minister Vijitha Herath said in yesterday’s press conference announcing the cabinet decisions that the government has planned to establish a separate ministry for digital affairs.
He said that experts in the digital sector will be invited to contribute to it.
However, the politicians have stated that most of the politicians associated with the National People’s Power, Dr. Hans Wijesuriya will visit Sri Lanka.
