YouTuber Trevor Jacobs has been sentenced to six months in prison for lying to US investigators about deliberately crashing his own plane to boost the popularity of his YouTube star.
This YouTuber posted the video of the plane crash in December 2021, implying that it was an accident. He crashed the plane and survived with the help of a parachute along with his selfie stick. The video, which contains scenes of the plane crashing, has been viewed more than three million times.
Trevor Jacobs has admitted that he shot the video as part of a sponsorship deal. Accordingly, he was sentenced after admitting to destroying his plane and concealing information about it to obstruct a federal investigation.
