The Upcountry Railway will be closed for 6 days due to an Indian film

Due to the shooting of an Indo-Sri Lankan film related to the Upland railway line, the train running on that line has been termineted for a period of 06 days from Colombo Fort to Ella railway station. The film will be shot in and around the famous Nine Arch Bridge at Ella and Demodara section .

It has been decided to transport passengers from Ella to Badulla by buses to remedy the inconvenience caused to passengers due to this decision. The railway department says that despite some inconvenience to the passengers, with the screening of this film, the tourism industry of Sri Lanka will gain a lot of attraction and this decision has been taken considering that advantage.

However, due to this, the passengers who booked tickets in advance to travel to Badulla are in a lot of trouble.

The Railway Department has sent a letter to the Director of Government Information regarding this decision and the letter is published below.
