Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe has suspended the activities of the Sri Lanka Cricket Board. According to the announcement issued by Minister Roshan Ranasinghe, it is stated that this decision was taken according to the powers given to the Minister of Sports by the Sports Act No. 25 of 1973.

Foemer captain Arjuna Ranatunga has been appointed as the chairman of the new cricket interim committee and the other members are retired Supreme Court judges M.I.M. Imam, Rohini Marasinghe, Airangani Perera, Upali Dharmadasa, Rakitha Rajapaksa, Hisham Jamaldeen have been appointed.
