The “Siri Dalada Pandana” ended today (27). The Dalada Pandana began for the devotees at 11 am today and 76,000 devotees had the opportunity to join the Sri Dalada Pandana between 5.30 pm and 5.30 pm.
Hundreds of thousands of devotees came to Kandy in the past ten days for the “Siri Dalada Pandana”, and despite the rain and sun, the devotees stood in queues that stretched for kilometers to worship the Tooth Relic.
The “Siri Dalada Pandana” began on April 18, granting the right to worship the left tooth relic of Gautama Buddha after 16 years.
Devotees were still waiting in long queues at the three entrances to the “Siri Dalada Wandana” today, and Dansalas were also held for them. A cool water Dansala organized by the Tamil people of Jaffna was also held for these devotees today.
Meanwhile, it is reported that a cleaning program has begun in Kandy city after the “Siri Dalada Wandana” ended at 5.30 pm today.
