The S.J.B is shaking. Minor parties are going to leave Sajith and join Ranil.

With opposition leader Sajith Premadasa declaring that he will not engage in any alliance politics with President Ranil Wickremesinghe in the future, political sources say that there has been a serious division in the Samagi Janabalewega.

Representatives of minor parties including the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) and the Tamil Progressive Alliance (TPA), which represents the Samagi Jana Sandanha, are seriously upset with the opposition leader’s statement. The leaders of those parties were ready to start negotiations to form a political alliance with the United National Party aiming at the upcoming elections.

A considerable number of Samagi Jana Balawega MPs have also expressed their agreement to form an alliance with the United National Party. In order to face the elections to be held next year, the majority believe that an alliance should be built between the Samagi Jana Balawegaya and the United National Party led by the President, says the internal sources of the S.J.B..

Minor party leaders have pointed out to the opposition leader that it will be difficult to defeat the Podujana Peramuna and the Janata Vimukthi Peramuna-led National People’s Power without that kind of alliance, but the report says that a new political crisis is being created in the opposition because opposition leader sajith premadhasa is going to express his views in the parliament according to his own opinion despite this.

If there is an alliance between the S.J.B and the United National Party, a number of members of the Podujana Peramuna have already to jion that alliance.
