The Milk Powder Importers Association says that the media reports that the price of imported milk powder will be reduced are false.
Ashoka Bandara, the media spokesperson of the association said that the statement circulating in the media platforms is wrong and that his organization has not taken any decision regarding the price reduction.
In response to the commerce ministry’s request to provide relief to consumers during the New Year, all milk powder brands have reduced their prices from April 1, with the current maximum retail price of Rs. 1,050 for a 400 gram packet.
The association also says that legal action will be taken against the MP who made this false statement and caused inconvenience to the people.
