The People’s Struggle Alliance says that the current war in the Middle East is a terrorist act carried out by the American imperialists and the Israeli Zionists to plunder oil resources and protect their financial dominance.
Issuing a statement, the alliance states that this series of attacks on Iran, which were launched without any provocation, is the culmination of the US’s decades-long program to create political instability in the Middle East.
The statement points out that the US is currently targeting Iran, just as it previously destabilized Iraq and Libya by assassinating Saddam Hussein and Muammar Gaddafi.
The People’s Struggle Alliance alleges that the kidnapping of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and the oil embargo imposed on Cuba are also part of this same political strategy, and that the ultimate goal is to prepare for an economic war with China.
The People’s Struggle Alliance strongly condemns the bombing of Iran in which 165 civilians, including girls from a primary school, were killed, and the statement states that Israel has become a brutal partner of the United States. The People’s Struggle Alliance also rejects the foreign policy of the current National People’s Forces government. The alliance says that the current government has failed to protect the non-aligned policy that Sri Lanka has maintained so far.
The alliance accused the president, who had remained silent on the genocide in Gaza or the bombing of Iran, of expressing his allegiance to the American side by condemning only the attack on the United Arab Emirates.
