The party’s internal sources say that the majority of members of the Podujana Peramuna have decided to support the current president in the presidential election.
Currently, more than 100 of the ministers supporting the ruling party have expressed their support to President Ranil Wickremesinghe, and it is reported that less than 15 people have come forward to support businessman Dhammika Perera and his representative Namal Rajapaksa, who are seeking the candidature of the Podujana Peramuna.
A group of 40 members of the Podujana Peremuna participated in the rally held in Galle yesterday. It is reported that in the next few weeks, a large number of members of the Podujana Peremune are going to get on the stage of Ranil Wickramasinghe.
Meanwhile, the National Freedom Front, which was associated with the Sarvajana Peramuna political movement, has also left it and has decided to join the Podujana Peramuna in the future, according to politicale sources.
