The Supreme Court today ordered the dismissal of the petition that was filed seeking a verdict that basic human rights are being violated through the decision taken to enroll students for the medical degree in Kotalawala Defense University against the standard criteria.
Additional Solicitor General Sumathi Dharmawardena, who represented the Attorney General against the fundamental rights petition filed by a group led by Professor Arjuna Parakrama, filed the preliminary objections raised by Sumathi Dharmawardena and said that a case related to the fact on which this case is based had been dismissed by the Court of Appeal earlier, and the petitioners in their petition Not mentioned.
Accordingly, after considering all the facts presented, the bench decided to dismiss this petition without hearing it.
