Market sources say that the shortage of nadu rice in the market is caused by the owners of rice mills.
The sources further to say that certain mill owners asked to buy 5000 kilos of keri samba to provide 1000 kilos of nadu rice, and in some cases this ratio is 5000 kilos of nadu to 15000 kilos of keri samba.
It is reported that keri samba stocks are piled up in their stores due to the existing situation. According to this, a kilo of Nadu rice should be sold at a maximum retail price of Rs 230 and Keeri Samba at Rs 260 and the government should take immediate action to controal the price the delears said
