The International Monetary Fund approves its second loan tranche

According to the report, the loan amount of 337 million dollars that was to be given to Sri Lanka by the International Monetary Fund last September has been approved. The release of this loan was postponed indefinitely last September due to Sri Lanka’s failure to meet expected government revenue targets.

Following the executive board discussion on Sri Lanka, Deputy Managing Director Kenji Okamura stated that this loan amount will be issued in a statement.
