The necessary approval for the staff agreement for the 2.9 million dollar financial facility expected by Sri Lanka from the International Monetary Fund will be received by the 20th of this month, said Krishna Sri Niwasan, director in charge of the Asia Pacific region of that fund.
He further said that after receiving the approval, institutions such as the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank will also receive loans for Sri Lanka, which is facing severe economic difficulties.
Yesterday, Sri Lanka officially received the agreement related to the restructuring of the Chinese debt, which has been delayed until now, by the International Monetary Fund’s financial facility.
