The health minister reveals that the elderly population is at serious risk.

Health Minister Dr. Ramesh Pathirana said that 12% of the elderly population in Sri Lanka have lost all their teeth. Therefore, he emphasized that the importance of dental health should be taught at the school level.

The minister said this while addressing an event held on the occasion of World Oral Health Day. He said that it is important to maintain proper oral dental health throughout life, and today a large number of people in the country are suffering from oral cancer.

The minister emphasized the importance of following proper health habits to avoid such diseases.
