Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa says that the government’s promise of 100 rupees for a kilo of paddy has been broken.
But he further said that during his father’s tenure as President, the paddy marketing Board was strengthened and a fair price was given to the farmer and fertilizer was given at 350 rupees.
He further said that he also admits that the organic fertilizer project implemented by his uncle, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, is a failure, but continuing to talk about it is fruitless. He mentioned that what should be done now is to intervene to get a fair price for the farmer.
