The Division of Urea Fertilizer Begins Today

The Ministry of Agriculture has announced that the distribution of urea fertilizer, which was imported from Oman and arrived in Sri Lanka last Saturday, will commence today (12).

This stock of fertilizer comprises 22,500 metric tons of urea, and it will be distributed through agricultural service centers starting today, according to the ministry.

Agriculture Minister Mahinda Amaraweera recently stated that measures will be taken to provide a bundle of urea fertilizer for less than 5,000 rupees. He also mentioned that although the private sector has increased the price of a bale of urea fertilizer, the government is actively working to further reduce its price.
