A petition filed by two telecom trade union activists was called against the transfer of shares in the telecom company.
On that occasion, the Deputy Solicitor General, who spoke on behalf of the Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, informed the court that the process of transferring these shares was completely legal.
Then, giving a pledge before the Supreme Court, the Finance Ministry Secretary said that the government-owned shares of Sri Lanka Telecom will not be sold until June 15.
