Sri Lanka’s Tarushi Karunaratne won a gold medal in the 800m event with a new game record at the 25th Asian Athletics Championships being held in Bangkok, Thailand.
She completed the event in 2:00.66, beating the Sri Lankan record.
Gayantika Abeyratne has won a bronze medal in that event. She clocked a time of 2:03.25 to complete the race.
