Deputy Minister of Public Security Sunil Watagala says that he has filed a complaint with the Criminal Investigation Department to investigate the hateful and false statement made about him on social media.
He points out that legal action will be taken against the parties who created the relevant statement and disseminated it on social media under civil and criminal laws.
Recently, there was a rumor on social media that Deputy Minister of Public Security Sunil Watagala had purchased a house in a housing complex in the Colombo area.
Posting a post on his Facebook account regarding the relevant propaganda, Deputy Minister Sunil Watagala points out that it is false and defamatory propaganda.
