Sri Lankan teacher education professionals start a strike

Based on 09 demands including salary disparity, all the professionals of the Sri Lanka Teacher Education Service will enter into a professional action of reporting one day sick leave tomorrow (23), says the Joint Professional Association of Sri Lanka Education Service Officers.

This has been said with the signatures of the Secretary of the Sri Lanka Educator Service Lecturer Trade Union and the Secretary of the All Sri Lanka Teacher Educator Service Trade Union in a press release.

The officers of the Sri Lanka Education Service work in 19 National Colleges of Education, 08 Teachers’ Colleges and 113 Teacher Professional Development Centers and they allege that even though 17 months have passed since their salary disparity, they have not been given a fair solution.
