Sri Lanka women’s cricket team wins by defeating the West Indian team.

In the first match of the one-day tournament between Sri Lanka and West Indian women’s cricket teams held today at the Suriyawewa Stadium in Hambantota, the Sri Lanka women’s team managed to defeat the West Indian team by 06 wickets.

The Sri Lanka women’s team won the toss and put west indian into bat first. Accordingly, the West Indian women’s team, who entered the field, scored 197 runs after 47 overs and one ball.

West team captain Hayley Matthews scored 38 points and Shemaine Campbell scored 27 runs.

In bowling, Sugandhika Kumari and Kavishka Dilhari of the Sri Lankan team took 03 wickets each, while captain Chamari Athapattu and Achini Kulasuriya took one wicket each.

Then the Sri Lankan women’s team entered the field with a reply target of 198 runs and managed to score 198 runs in 34 overs and 01 balls, losing 04 wickets.

Vishmi Gunaratna scored 40, Chamari Athapattu scored 38 Hasini Perera scored 43 , and Harshita Samarawickrama scored 44, unbeaten.
