Sri Lanka suffered a crushing defeat by 67 runs in the tri-nation Twenty20 cricket tournament being held in Pakistan yesterday (20).
Chasing 163 runs scored by Zimbabwe in this match held in Rawalpindi, Sri Lanka were all out for only 95 runs in their 20 overs.
Captain Dasun Shanaka, the highest scorer in the Sri Lankan innings, scored 34 runs in 25 balls. Apart from him, Bhanuka Rajapaksa scored 11 runs and no other batsman could reach the 10-run mark.
Brad Evans took 3 for 9 and Richard Garawa took 2 for 15 for Zimbabwe.
This is the 9th lowest total Sri Lanka have ever been bowled out for against any team in the world in T20Is. In addition, this victory also became the biggest victory (by points margin) for Zimbabwe against an ICC full member country.
Their previous record victory was a 31-run win against Bangladesh in 2016.
