Sri Lanka’s Committee on Public Finance (COPF) is expected to discuss a domestic debt restructuring plan on June 29 and 30, according to its chairman Harsha de Silva.
He also said that President Ranil Wickremesinghe has updated the opposition leader and himself to some extent. “We have said from the beginning that it is better not to restructure the domestic debt, but if it is necessary to do it, we believe that the stability of the financial system should be protected and deposits should be protected,” added Dr. Harsha de Silva.
