Seventy million rupees were spent on printing the module with the homosexual web address.

The government cannot escape its responsibility for including a login address of an inappropriate website for children in the English language module printed for grade 6 students under the new education reforms, says Ceylon Teachers’ Union General Secretary Joseph Stalin.

Speaking at a press conference held in Colombo, he said that this action has caused great damage to the education of children.

He said that over seven hundred million rupees of public money had been spent on printing these modules and that it was a crime to spend such a large amount of public money on printing such a seriously flawed publication.

He said that this program was not introduced by the current government, but was initiated and brought forward during the reign of former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, and that this situation has arisen due to the implementation of this program, which was not implemented even during that regime, without proper standards.
