If the Podujana Peramuna, led by Basil Rajapaksa, does not support the current President Ranil Wickremesinghe in the upcoming presidential election, a discussion has been held under the leadership of Nimal Lansa to discuss the steps to be taken.
It is reported that the leader of the New Alliance, Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, and several MPs representing the Nimal Siripala faction of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party have participated in this discussion.
More than 20 MPs participated in this discussion held in the Kotte area, and according to the calculations made there, about 70 MPs have agreed to support President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
