A scholarly discussion on constitutional reforms organized by One Text will be held on the 3rd (February 3) at 4 pm at the Orchid premises of the Bandaranaike International Conference Hall, a spokesperson for the organization said.
The keynote address of this discussion on how the proposed constitutional reforms should be will be delivered by Professor Deepika Udagama, former Head of the Law Department of the University of Peradeniya.
Dr. Jayampathy Wickramaratne, Dr. Kumarwadivel Guruparan, Dr. Ramesh Ramasamy, former Minister Udaya Gammanpila and Member of Parliament Nizam Kariyapper will deliver other speeches.
The discussion will focus on the need for a new draft constitution and the elements that need to be improved.
One Text is an institution operating in the country since 2003. The institution contributes to matters such as conducting studies and research necessary for the formulation of policies in the country, and building consensus among political parties on issues of national importance.
