Sajith makes controversial statement on 13th from India .

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has drawn attention in the political arena for a controversial statement made during his visit to India. Responding to a question asked about the 13th Amendment and Provincial Council elections after the keynote address at the Indian Council of International Affairs, he said that the amendment to the Constitution should be fully implemented.

Expressing further views, he said that he believes that the 13th Amendment to the Constitution should be fully implemented. He also said that it is his policy.

According to the Indo-Lanka Agreement, the Provincial Councils of Sri Lanka were established by adding the 13th Amendment to the Constitution. But since 1987, no ruler has taken steps to provide the lands and police powers that come there. This situation has caused discontent in India and on several occasions India has asked Sri Lanka to fully implement the 13th constitution.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa went beyond 13 and told the people of the North to give 13 + Den Abwa, but he also did not provide lands and police powers.
